Fun in New York City – January 23, 2010
As a benefit for the Catskill Symphony Orchestra, Dottie Lawson led a “free-day” bus trip to New York City. The event was a great success earning $1,000 for the cause. Two advantages of the CSO trip, over similar ones offered by Eastern, are the direct route (not stopping in Binghamton for passengers) and having two drop-off/pick-up locations, one in the Broadway District and another at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. On this occasion, what a fine weather day it was – no precipitation, 42 degrees F., and calm winds. Some of the participants met friends and relatives, others visited museum, shopped, or went to Broadway shows. My wife and I got off at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and walked along 79th street to the American Natural History Museum where we spent the day. Along the way we saw many people enjoying Central Park, walking, running, or bicycling. Upon returning to the bus at the end of the day, everyone seemed to radiate a glow of satisfaction. It was a fun day! Thank you, Dottie for doing another GREAT January CSO bus trip to the “Big Apple.” -- Currie Marr
